30 Indispensable Ice Creams, Best Ice Cream Book in the World
30 Indispensable Ice Creams, published by Arte Heladero and Grupo Vilbo, has just been awarded the Best Ice Cream Book in the World by the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2018. The book by Malgrat de Mar’s (Barcelona) ice cream maker, Jaume Turró Andersen, helps the professional design a heterogeneous and competitive offer of ice cream and sorbets to have a showcase adapted to the new standards of demand and quality of the 21st century customer.
The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards is the institution responsible for annually awarding the most outstanding gastronomy books in the world in an itinerant ceremony that this year was held in Yantai, China, from May 25 to 28, and will also do so next October at the Frankfurt Book Fair. This edition, in addition, has registered one of the highest participation of all editions, with books from 215 countries and regions.
The Gourmand Awards is the world’s most important event for food publishers and was founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau. They are compared to the culinary Oscars and are not only open to printed books, but also to those in digital format. They were created with the intention of helping readers to find the best gastronomy books and to revitalize this publishing sector with important recognitions to promote commercial works, expand their sales markets, and help bookstores identify reference books in each product category.
It is not the first time that a book by Grupo Vilbo is awarded with the Gourmand World CookBook Awards. In the past, the book Chocolate, by Ramon Morató and the first book by Paco Torreblanca, also received this award.
