The Butterfly Patisserie (Hong Kong) showcases exclusive chocolates, contemporary and inventive cakes, artisan ice creams, and seasonal dessert specialties as if the establishment were a high-end jewelry workshop.

 

One of its attractions is its location, the luxurious Rosewood Hong Kong hotel, located on the seafront in Victoria Harbor, at the former New World Centre on Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui.

However, beyond its privileged location, the talent of Jonathan Soukdeo, its Executive Pastry Chef since March 2023, makes it stand out. With more than 15 years of experience in the sector, he has worked alongside great professionals such as Sébastian Serveau, the MOF Jérôme Chaucesse at the Hôtel de Crillon, and Julien Álvarez at The Peninsula Paris. His ingenious creations have earned him many accolades, including his victory at the Cabosse d’Or Junior Competition.

At Rosewood Hong Kong, Soukdeo also gives practical master classes on various pastry specialties such as Parisian Flan and Chiffon Cake.

 

New pastries collection

Soukdeo has added a new pastries collection to Butterfly Patisserie’s offering that immediately transports you to an exquisite dessert shop in France. From a Strawberry Baked Cheesecake, which contains Brittany cheese with notes of fresh strawberry, to a Hazelnut Paris Brest reinvented with baked puff pastry wrapped in a hazelnut cream filling; a Vanilla Chocolate & Salted Caramel Cake that is made with 71.5% Butterfly chocolate with layers of dark chocolate brownie, crunchy chocolate and velvety chocolate cream, and a Coffee Cake that combines chocolate sponge cake with coffee crème brulée topping.

In the section of new and ingenious creations we also find an airy Strawberry roll cake with texture akin to a classic Japanese dessert, a Pineapple & Coconut Cake that adds a tropical touch, and a Tahitian vanilla flan nestled within a buttery pastry.
