Ana RodríguezAdrien Blenet, the contestant from Sallanches and coached by Roland Zanin, has won the 9th Concours International du Macaron Amateur, held in Val d’Isere. His macaron “Noisette des îles”, made with hazelnuts, sudachi and passionfruit heart, “won unanimously due to its technique and its combination of flavors,” says Pactrick Chevallot, the organizer of this edition.
Seventeen finalists from all over France and abroad (Tokyo, Montreal, Venice, and Brussels) were evaluated by an exceptional jury, chaired by Christophe Felder, who distributed their points based on six parameters: appearance, regularity, texture and filling, flavors, and originality.
The high level of the competition stood out, a competition which was open to the public for the first time. The second place went to Julie Ollive, the contestant from Nice, with her macaron “Voyage acidulé au Népal” (lime, raspberry, and Timut pepper), and third place went to Arianna Michellette, from Venice, with a herb ganache macaron (basil liquor, Combava leaves, and Huacatay from the Andes) and lime gelée with pepper Timut.
