Entries are open for the 2nd UK Sugar Championship

Ana RodríguezNext 12 April, the 2nd UK Sugar Championship will be held at the UCB University College Birmingham.
Organized by the UK Pastry Club, in collaboration with the Restaurant Show, two categories are now open (Juniors under 23 and 24 or above) and this is the opportunity to highlight young talents from Britain.
The candidates will have six hours to prepare an artistic sugar piece on any topic. It must be created with a minimum of 80% cooked sugar and include the following techniques: Poured or cast sugar (1/2 of the minimum limit) and the remaining Pulled, Blown, Ribbon, with a minimum of 1 type of flower to be a Rose, an Orchid, or a Carnation.
Well-known judges with the abilities of working and understanding sugar work will evaluate the cleanliness and organization of the work, the variety of techniques used, innovation, harmony, and the general aesthetic of the piece. The winner of each category will receive the “UK Sugar Trophy or the UK Sugar Trophy Junior” from the UK Pastry Club and different special prizes from the sponsors of the competition.
To participate, a CV with photographic evidence of abilities working with sugar must be sent before 3 March.
