More teams than ever to take part in the Mondial des Arts Sucrés

Fernando TodaThe third edition of the ambitious Mondial des Arts Sucrés, organized by the firm DGF during the trade fair Europain (Paris, from 3rd to 6th March), has already outlined all the details with an eye on a spectacular final with no less than 16 teams from all over the planet, six more teams than in the latest edition. The main particularity of this year’s edition is that the teams are made up of mixed pairs, that is, a man and a woman.
To be precise, the countries participating are Japan (latest winner), France, United States, Brazil, Switzerland, Egypt, Ireland, Georgia, Malaysia, Morocco, Russia, Vietnam, Singapore, Ukraine, Colombia and Mexico. The absence of pastry powers like Italy or Spain in the list is rather surprising.
Again, the demands of the contest will be maximum, as each couple will have to make three artistic pieces (sugar, chocolate and pastillage), three fresh petit fours, three individual pieces, three types of bonbon, and one dessert. All this in 20 hours while closely watched by an exceptional jury led by Pascal Niau, MOF and pastry chef at Mansion Dalloyau. On this occasion, Kenny Kong, from Singapore, is this edition’s honored president. Good luck to all the contestants!
