Ana RodríguezAsian Pastry Cup, the Asian qualifier for the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, will be held again on October 23 and 24 at the FHA HoReCa in Singapore.
This year, ten countries will participate: China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. For the first time since the eighth edition, the APC will welcome Japan as an official competitor for the preselection of the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, to be held in Lyon in 2025.
“We are thrilled to host the Asian Pastry Cup 2024 in Singapore, and even more excited to welcome Japan into the competition for the first time,” says organizer Vincent Bourdin. “This event not only showcases the incredible talent and creativity of pastry chefs across Asia but also strengthens the bonds within our vibrant culinary community.”
In this call, teams will have to make a travel cake with a jar of Gelato takeaway instead of a traditional chocolate cake. As in other editions, they must prepare a plated dessert, showcasing their culinary artistry and innovation. Additionally, they will present buffets in which a chocolate dessert and a sugar dessert will be combined, both created around the theme, “Women’s summer fashion.”
