Ana RodríguezFollowing the success of the last edition (201,000 trade visitors, 41,000 from abroad, to the total of 720 Journalists and bloggers, 500 events at the expo), Sigep will reopen its doors from 21 to 25 January 2017 in Rimini (Italy) under the slogan “the sweetest worldwide Hub”. Asia, the USA, and the Middle East, with a focus on Germany, are the strategic destinations the organization wants to influence. Thus, the Salon will include the last dates in London and Berlin of the three-year program of the Gelato World Tour organized by SIGEP and Carpigiani.
One of the highlights of this great world gelato event is its increasing significance in the HoReCa sector. So much so that the Salon has not only changed its official name to International Exhibition dedicated to Artisan Gelato, Pastry and Bakery Production, and the Coffee Sector, but proposes seven coffee championships valid for the international World Coffee Events circuit.
In the Pastry Arena, the Junior World Pastry Championship will be held on 21 and 22 January and will bring together ten teams (France, Japan, India, the Balkans, the Philippines, Singapore, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Italy) that will try to recreate Planet Fantasy. The Italian Senior and Junior Pastry Championships have been confirmed for the 23 and 24 January, as well as The Star of Sugar, international sugar art contest (21-25 January), and the Italian Artistic Pastry Cup, which will be dedicated to the world of cartoons.
In 2017, AB TECH EXPO (the biennial international exhibition of technologies and products for bakery, pastry, and confectionery) will be back. The key player will be the entire product chain with its semi-industrial technology, from product stockage to the preparation of recipes, from dough to processing.
