Two weeks ago, the central associations of the German confectionery and snacks industry and important representatives of the sector assured that the ISM and the ProSweets Cologne would be held in 2021. However, continued growth in infection and lockdown numbers, as well as international travel restrictions have forced the Koelnmesse to suspend fairs.

“Naturally, we are very sorry. We were well prepared and strongly believed that we could provide the confectionery and snack industries with a relaunch through ISM and ProSweets Cologne 2021,” says Gerald Böse, Chairman of the Board of Management by Koelnmesse. “However, our exhibitors and visitors do not see, taking into account the current situation, any substantial change that would make possible the celebration of the fair next January”.

Böse confirms that they are already working on the organization of ISM and ProSweets from January 30 to February 2, 2022. Together with the collaborating entities, the Koelnmesse will take advantage of this time to continue strengthening the two fairs conceptually, developing digital formats that offer a suitable complement to the face-to-face event.
