Jaume CotMore and more, this is the synthesis of the declaration of intent by the SIGEP organization, the International Exhibition for the Artisan Production of Gelato, Pastry, Confectionery and Bakery, for its 34th edition from 19 to 23 January 2013. The lines of action are easily predictable: follow the path that has allowed them to reap so much success throughout its recent history and particularly in its last edition, when foreign visitors increased by 21%.
From this point of view, their international work will be especially persistent throughout the year. Under the ‘Sigep around the World’ program, they have included numerous appearances at events, meetings with opinion leaders, and presentations, among others, especially in Germany, France, Arab Emirates, Singapore, China, Brazil, United States, Argentina and Australia.
Junior Pastry World Cup: Young pastry chefs of the world scene. One of the highlights of the event is undoubtedly the rich program of parallel activities, with top national and international competitions at the forefront. On this occasion, the majority of the focus will be on the new edition of the Junior World Pastry Cup, the international championship of Young Pastry Chefs whose first edition had wide global representation of the top up-and-coming talents. This time the theme of the work to be carried out by each team is ‘The circus of the future’.
As a new feature this year they will host a contest-exhibition of sugar showpieces called ‘The Star of Sugar’ which aims to bring together the best exponents of this discipline and make them work under the theme ‘the girl clown’. There will also be other meetings of a local character such as the Sigep D’Oro or the qualifying round to select the Chocolate Masters’ Italian representative, as well as the Senior and Junior of Italian Pastry. Finally, the prevalence of bread in the sector will be enhanced this year by the acquisition by Rimini Fiera of AB Tech Expo, the triennial event for bakery and related industries. Their integration in the next edition of SIGEP will significantly enrich the program of activities related to the world of the baked masses and in which you won’t miss an exhibition of the best bakery of the winning countries from previous editions of the Golden Bread Cup, namely Italy, Germany, Israel, USA and Hungary.
