Ana RodríguezBarry Callebaut has developed, in collaboration with byFlow, its first functional 3D chocolate printer prototype. A machine that is not only able to create custom chocolate in terms of shapes and flavors, but is also the gateway to what they call the “chocolate experience of tomorrow”.
“3D printing,” says a Callebaut spokesperson, “is considered one of the most promising and innovative manufacturing technologies. It’s a disjunctive technology that will change the way retailing is currently conducted and will have a lasting global impact on many different market segments”.
With this 3D chocolate printer, the manufacturer wants to “combine our chocolate making legacy with tomorrow’s technologies. It’s an exciting adventure to be able to create new experiences with chocolate, one of the most famous Belgian products”.
