Born in Cuenca in the Ecuadorian Andes, Pía Salazar has been recognized as Best Pastry Chef in Latin America 2022 and Best Pastry Chef in the World 2023 by the prestigious 50 Best Restaurants ranking.
She opened the Nuema restaurant in Quito in 2014, alongside Alejandro Chamorro, where she offers daring desserts that are assemblages of her memory and her territory. Among her plans is the opening of a new restaurant and a pastry shop.
