Madagascar Mivoatra 70%, a gold medal chocolate from Deremiens
Madagascar Mivoatra 70%, from Deremiens Chocolate Group, has just received the gold medal at the Belgium Chocolate Awards 2024.
Like all Grands Crus of Mayata origin, it is made from high-quality cocoa beans that come from small cooperatives that respect nature and preserve sustainability. In the case of this chocolate, the cooperative is Mivoatra, located in the Sambirano Valley in Madagascar and run by Hedwige and seven collaborators.
At Mivoatra, they only produce exceptional and rare quality micro-lots, cultivated using traditional methods, without pesticides or fertilizers. Sambirano cocoa has an intense aroma of fruit and nuts. Its soft and round taste profile has a pleasant acidity of red fruits, especially cherries, and nuts.
